Our next deadline is Feb. 20 and all pages up to page 68 are due to be submitted.  Please make sure you work on the pages each week.  The final deadline is March 19th.

We will have a very busy meeting reviewing pictures to be put in the yearbook.  We need everyone to be present, if possible.  Our first deadline is Jan. 9th, so we have lots of work to get done.

Remember, per your contract, you MUST login and work on your pages at least once a week, regardless if we have a meeting or not.  Failure to follow contract will result in removal from yearbook.

Activity buses are now leaving at 4:30 so our meeting is extended until 4:30.  Please make sure you have a ride or activity bus ticket.

Welcome to our new yearbook members!  Please respond to this email to make sure you are receiving school fusion.  This will be our main communication for meetings and general information.  Please check school fusion regularly.

We will have a meeting on May 3rd, from 3 to 4:30, to prepare for the School of Excellence celebration.   We will also meet on May 17th for more training.
Please have a ride or activity bus ticket.

Start thinking of a "theme" for the new yearbook.  A theme is something that we carry on throughout the book.  Our theme for this year was "connected".  We used "connections, connecting", in the titles, etc.  It was based on how students are "connected" through social networks, media, etc.

So, come with ideas fpr themes and book cover.

We will have a meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd from 3- 4:30 to prepare for the School to Watch celebration on May 6th.

If you are re-applying for yearbook, the deadline for applications is Friday, 4/15.

Applications for the 2011-2012 Yearbook Staff are available.  If interested, please see Mrs. Swann.
Applications and assignment are due by April 15, 2011.  Every current member must reapply.  If have are unable to meet all the contract requirements for weekly work on pages, covering at least one game per season and have a great attitude, then Yearbook is not for you. 
The new Yearbook Staff will be posted on April 25, 2012

The final deadline for students to work on pages is Friday, March 18th. After that time, students will be unable to log in to work on pages.  This is done so no changes can be made to pages ready for submission and a protection device.
All pages will be submitted on Tuesday.
There is NO MEETING on Tuesday, March 22nd.
We will have a pizza party on Tuesday, March 29th.  If you plan on attending, please let Mrs. Swann know so we will have enough pizza.

If you do not have pages to complete, you do not need to attend the meeting on the 15th or the 22nd.

If you have completed pages, please post note so I can get teacher/coach approval.

We will meet each Tuesday during March for our final deadline.  Please be sure to work on pages each week. If you don't have a page to work on, you should continue to do practice pages.   Also, many have not covered any games.  Per your contract, everyone is supposed to cover at least one game per season.  You may not be on the yearbook staff next year if you have not met your requirements this year.

Final date of publication is 3/21/2011.

Spring sports will be covered but not placed into the 2011-2112 yearbook.

There is a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 15, after school.  Our second deadline is on Feb. 21st and we have many pages that are not ready, some not even started.

If you are unable to continue or just feel you don't want to be on yearbook, please let me know.  We continue to have yearbook staff who are not logging in at least once a week and therefore are facing termination from yearbook.

At this point, I am placing everyone except, Emmi, Eyerusalem and Amy on probation.  The pages are not being worked on at least once a week, meetings are not being attended on a regular base and games are not being covered.

The contract states you must cover at least two sporting events, and work on your pages at least once a week.  This does not mean just signing into yearbookavenue.  I can see exactly when, the date and time, plus the history of what was done on that page.  A few have signed in and nothing was done on the page.  This is not acceptable as working on the page.

If you want to remain on the yearbook staff, you must follow the contract.  Those on probation will be evaluated prior to winter break and removed if necessary.  Missing a deadline cost the school money and we will not miss deadlines.

We are having a yearbook staff meeting, after school on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd.  Since no one is on a sports team now, we should have everyone in attendance. 

Each Yearbook staff member is required to cover at least two sporting events.  Without coverage, we may not have pictures of the games.  Please be prepared to sign up for what sporting events you would like to take picture.  Next week, I will assign games to anyone who has not sign up for what event they want. 

If you are unable to stay after or come back to cover a game, please see Mrs. Swann. 

Due to not having the regular activity bus schedule next week, we will NOT meet on Sept. 14th.  We will meet in room 2003 for L/E on Sept. 23rd and back on schedule for meetings on Sept. 28th.

We will have training for new staff on 4/20, 5/4 and 5/18.  Current 8th graders need not attend unless they want to help train.

Pep Rally on 4/23, Academic Pep Rally on 4/30.  We need several yearbook staff members to take pictures at both events.  If you are interested, please let me know.

All spring sports will start having games in the next week or so.  If you are interested in covering a game, please let me know and check out camera and pass prior to leaving school.

Thanks for all the continued dedicated work on the yearbook.  I am already missing our 8th graders who feel they need to go to high school next school year and not help me with the yearbook.  We have some awesome 8th graders and they should be proud of the yearbook.

We will have a meeting on April 6th to start training the new staff members.  Any of the 8th graders are welcome to attend the training meeting to help.

There will NOT be a meeting this week but it is very important that everyone continue to work on their pages.
Speak to the teachers, find out what they are doing and don't be afraid to ask them to "stage" pictures.  We are down to the last few weeks and our book will go to production.

Remember we need coverage for the b'ball games and wrestling meets.

Please check in with me during the week to see how you can help us meet our deadline.  We will need to interview a few teachers and do alot of work from home. 

I am requesting to see if we can have a one day delay on submitting the pages.  With the snow, I am hoping Jostens will allow this.  We will meet on Tuesday, as usual.

No pep rally or sports this week, so getting some of the pictures should be interesting.  I am looking to see how we can rearrange some pages, if needed.

Our next deadline is on Monday, one week away, and if we ever get back into school, we have alot of work to do.
We need to complete pages 48-69 for this deadline.  Some of the pages are near completion, some we will have to work hard to get ready.

I will be after school on Thursday and Monday to meet the deadline.  Anyone who can stay after, will greatly help.

Please understand that we will have to "stage" some of the pictures we need and make sure we can interview some of the teacher to explain what their class does.  The music pages won't take long once we verify which class is which.

Please do as much as you can on your pages that are due for this deadline.  I know all other schools are in the same position, but we will NOT miss the deadline.  Our staff is too good and we will be ready.

Some of the pages have been moved to allow us to meet deadlines.  You should check the page ladder to see what pages you are working. 

Please make sure you sign up for winter sport games.  Girls b'ball is going on now, Boy's B'all and Wrestling will start soon.  Spring sports will follow with track, soccer, softball and baseball.  Even though the spring sports will not be in this addition of the yearbook, we have to have the pictures done and the pages can be done prior to leaving school.

A change in L/E for the second semester.  All Yearbook Staff will be listed for "lights, camera, action".  The staff will take pictures of the L/E groups, work on pages, etc.  Please see me if this causes a problem.  I know SCA will be attending that L/E group.

As of this afternoon, we will have met our first deadline!

Still looking for Off Campus Sport pictures along 8th grade pictures of those who have know each other since 1st grade for the "Memories of Us".  Anyone know any of the twins?  We want their pictures also.

Today we discussed good and bad pages in past yearbooks from different schools.  Please continue to look through magazines and book and pick out what you think is good and bad.  You will be surprised how this will be the first thing you start to notice on everything you look at in books.

Continue to work on your pages and check regularly for additional pictures.  I am uploading them as they come in from games and Lifetouch.  Also, remember to interview the teachers for your pages.

If you are on the L/E ineligibile list this means not only do you not attend L/E but you are also on school probation.  This means you may NOT attend any club or after school activity, including covering games.

You may however, work on your pages at home.

 Great Job today at our first Yearbook Staff meeting.  I am very impressed with how fast everyone is catching on to how the site works.  What a great year we are going to have!

Keep practicing this week, write down any questions you may have and be sure to get your contracts signed and work on the posters.
